He says he is the President Kisumu City’s music scene and I cant help but agree. After a 15-month hiatus, Gabiro Mtu Necessary returns with a new video for “Low Key” single, a song in which he features Matamu, a beautiful Kisumu-based songstress with sassy vocals. Directed by Kisumu’s top flick-maker Crizo Mzeiyah, “Low Key” explains why he was out of the entertainment industry for a while and at the same time asserts Gabiro’s right to whichever throne he lays claim to.
“Hip-hop inspired me to persevere….persevere and self-educate myself. That’s why I’m so loyal to the cause and loyal to the culture. I feel like I owe it to Hip-hop to do the best I can” – Gabiro tell me of his inspiration for music, an art he partook after battling drug addiction.
Gabiro’s lyricism and work ethics has thrust him to higher heights, even opening for A-lists like Diamond Platnumz and Sauti Sol and in “Low Key”, his creativity and grit is apparent and Matamu adds flavor to an already compellingly good composition. To wrap it all, the visuals are good and cleverly syncs with the song’s theme.
