Ghanaian artist Stonebwoy gained wide attention with his unique and clever fusion of Afrobeat sounds and Caribbean, reggae dance-hall tunes. The multi-award winner has just released his third studio album, Epistles of mama. In the album is this lovely track, “Hold On Yuh”, featuring the UK-based Jamaican dance-hall queen, Khalia. The video to this is just out.
The song premiered on Red Bull and is a special showcase of lyrical and musical ability. The album consist 12 reggae songs and 12 Afro-beat songs, making it a unique release. It features the likes of Sean Paul, Sarkodie, Burna Boy, among others.
Asked about why he made this a dual album, Stonebwoy answers:
“I wanted to reach out across the world, to all the lovers reggae and all the lovers of afrobeats and to bring these 2 genres together in one place.”
