Liam O’Brien has finally released the video for his single, “Stay”. The song featured singer Carly Mindel. Liam is a New York native based, 23-year-old singer-songwriter. He’s been been recording music for a number of years now, however, it is now that he’s gone commercial, with his songs getting proper distribution.
“Stay” is an infusion of soft rock with elements of both soul and blues. The video features Liam and another girl meeting, exchanging contacts and then, as in the social media age, proceeding to a string of communication–through texts and Snapchat–while avoiding one-on-one connections, despite the fact that they live in the same building. This, in a big way, summarize today’s relationships.
We asked Liam about the inspiration behind this song. He had this to say:
“…I was determined to create, cast, produce, and edit a music video that told a different love story than the song tells. A metaphor to the lyrics, the video shows how all our connection relies on cell phones these days.”
