“Can’t Dance” is the latest solo release from singer Kelli-Leigh. Co-produced with (and also featuring) UK producer producer, Art Bastian, the record was released on 17th August via her own label, Music Core. Its official dance video, shot in Cape Town, will be released later.
The emotion-imbued “Can’t Dance” serves as Kelli-Leigh’s second solo single. The South African singer-songwriter has already been a contributor to the charts; she provided vocals for Duke Dumont & Jax Jones’ “I Got” and Second City’s “I Wanna Feel”. She also co-wrote Low Steppa’s “Running”.
“I’m so proud to be putting out ‘Can’t Dance’. It’s a fusion of styles with the ballad entry point building into a satisfying dance drop, balancing emotion and beats. I’ve co-produced the record and produced the entire campaign and visuals around the release, it’s very much a product of my creativity and the growth of me as a Solo artist”, Kelli-Leigh tells us about this song.
On why she started her own music company, she says:
“I looked at releasing via a label but a lot of the majors seem to be focused mainly on male DJs and producers at the moment. I’d been told multiple times ‘it’s ‘harder to sell a female artist’ and so decided not to wait but start my campaign myself.”
Listen, and maybe understand, why Kelli-Leigh “Can’t Dance”.
