Brooklyn R&B singer/songwriter René has just released her second ‘official’ single, which she titles “I Need Ya”. The smooth, soulful and seductive song was produced by Macc MacCray, who crafts a classic-meets-contemporary tune, which complements René’s sultry and sensual vocal delivery. Walking through a path that the likes of Ella Mai and SZA have recently left a mark on, this newcomer is, surely, inviting much creative dissection of her art. Still, considering the strength of this new song, I believe she has all it takes to hold her own.
