For lovers of funk music, Diamond Ortiz has got you covered as he’s working on a full-length album, Certified. The Los Angeles-based artist will be dropping that LP later in the year but for now he has shared “Virgo Baby”, the album’s first single. Written by Ortiz himself, the groovy track carries his signature blend of retro and future funk. The party jam is out on the label, Needle to the Groove.

Besides singing and writing, Diamond Ortiz, whose first name is Jeremy, is also a talented multi-instrumentalist; he plays bass, guitar, keys, synths, drums, percussion, samplers and the talk box. His music is influenced by the sounds he grew up on.
