Ember Valley has a dropped their debut EP, Welcome Back. The 5-track project thematically highlights the optimism that arose amidst the sadness which followed (Ember Valley guitarist Sohail Al-Jamea’s daughter) Ivy’s cancer diagnosis in 2017. “Atmosphere”, one of the songs on the EP, provides a clearer sense of the emotional experience, which singer Megan Wetzel’s gripping vocal delivery fully encapsulates.

During my many months at the hospital with Ivy, I constantly had to work on staying positive and finding the silver linings in every complication that Ivy endured. Playing the guitar for her was the perfect way for me to focus my energy on something that both of us enjoyed. I played the tune that would become ‘Atmosphere’ so often that it became a mantra. Even now, Ivy immediately responds to the tune every time I play it.” ~ Al-Jamea

The 4-member band is composed of Sohail Al-Jamea (guitar), Megan Wetzel (vocals), Chris Gray (guitar) and Tom Lazet (bass). Ember Valley’s music got to be featured on The War Within documentary series.
