MOAN can imply a number of things, but with focus on UK Hip-hop, the word is the abbreviated form of Message Of a Nation, a Yorkshire-based collective whose music infuses elements of soul, jazz and a ‘boombapy’ feel. The trio has just dropped its debut EP, Finding Home, an 8-track project that reflects on current times and the experiences of young adults. Overall, the lyricism and delivery are both impressively articulate and, for every listen, an average rap fan will will feel a spark of nostalgia.
As the EP dropped, they also got to reveal the video for “Minimum Wage”, the lead song on Finding Home.
