British singer/songwriter Toby Johnson has debuted his recording career with a smooth and exciting song titled “Isla”. The folksy, indie-pop track arrived on 11th June (courtesy of Mahogany Recordings) and precedes his forthcoming EP. The release of this song coincides with the announcement of the musician’s first headline show, which will take place in Hackney (London), as part of ‘Mahogany Sessions Live’. Toby had, however, previously performed on stage alongside artists like Lewis Watson, Mahalia and Isaac Gracie.

The song, and by extension the entire project, was written with inspiration from the singer’s personal experiences. About “Isla”, he says: “this a final goodbye to a relationship, it isn’t meant to be confrontational, but more of a celebration of that person I really needed at the time.”
