“Chalk” is another interesting throwback release; it’s the last single by Leo James Conroy, a Manchester-raised, Los Angeles-based artist. Typically borrowing heavily from jazz and soul, the record is inherently tinged with a dash of pop. The singer’s air-piercing vocals, the track’s pristine instrumentation and the stimulating lyrics all contribute in making this such an enjoyable tune.

Released as Leo’s first single since his 2018 EP (Plastic Chairs & Cigarette Fumes), the release of “Chalk” marked the start of a followup EP.
