Rola Azar is a Palestine singer and songwriter who hails from Nazareth but is currently based in Jerusalem. Recently, she did perform at the Singer’s Cafe in Bethlehem. Delia Arts Foundation (an initiative to support musicians in conflict zones) is presenting a video that captures that live session.
The recording, which consists of two songs “La Mayla” and “Al Moya”, was produced by Johno. You can hear Rola’s wailing vocals combining smoothly with an instrumentation that blends guitar and percussion — both played with a Middle-Eastern approach.
