The Satellite Station‘s new release “Phantom” is a simple piece stripped down to the basics. Yet, thanks to the haunting piano chords and emotive vocals, the track still remains totally overwhelming. The lyrics is built around the heart-gripping feeling of losing a loved one, either through breakup or death, and the challenging process of moving on. Sonically, “Phantom” is part folk, part indie-pop.
The Satellite Station is the moniker used by Canton, Ohio-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Travis Rue.
