Part jazz, part folk and part indie-pop; that’s “Last Love”, a song by New York City-based multi-talented Swiss/Swedish musician Helena Hallberg. The track combines a ukulele, a driving bass and some horn section, with the result being melodic and rhythmic. The sound is both refreshing and engaging and, surely, thrusts Helena’s ingenuity as a composer.

“Last Love” carries a succinct message: that if love is unreciprocated, then there’s no need holding on to what’s never meant to be.

Below is an acoustic version which Helena Hallberg shared a couple of years ago.
