“Black Cypher” is a cypher/single by Carolina Waves, a hip-hop outfit from North Carolina. Produced by Imani Pressley (a.k.a. Yaya Beatz), this new track features solid verses by Durham-based artists Lena Jackson, Jooselord, TAGEM, and 2FLY KNG.

Each emcee displays ferocious lyricism as they talk about racism and police brutality. Their grim lyrics find good company in the the monochromatic video that befits the song’s emotionally dark theme. The clip was co-directed by Pat Lincoln and Brandon McCarrell.

The profits from “Black AF” will entirely be donated to North Carolina based anti-racism & discrimination non-profits including: Democracy Green, Black Out Collective, Raleigh Pact, Raleigh Demands Justice, Emancipate NC and Advance Carolina.
