It’s a New York-Auckland connection as New Zealand producer SoulChef and Philippines-born New York emcee Hydroponikz share their collaborative hip-hop album, NY2NZ. The LP combines boom-bap production, socially conscious lyrics and impressive rap cadences.
SoulChef meticulously crafts each beat with Hydroponikz’s hard-hitting style of rap in mind. To illustrate this, we’ve highlighted the track, “The Crude Facts”. The song is introspective but also quite irresistibly head-bobbing. It’s a proper representation of the album’s other 10 tracks.
Stream NY2NZ even as you connect with SoulChef and Hydroponikz on Instagram.
