Here is JP Cooper‘s powerful new cover of The Beatles classic “Let It Be”. The song is part of the 37-year-old English singer-songwriter’s Covers EP (out now via Republic Records).
This project carries six tracks, including “Ex-Factor”, “everything i wanted” and “Hotter Than Hell”, which were originally done by Lauryn Hill, Billie Eilish and Dua Lipa, respectively.
About “Let It Be,” JP said, “I’ve always been a huge fan of the Beatles and this song is one of my favorites. When I heard we were going to be spending a couple of days at Abbey Road Studios, I knew I had to do a Beatles song…and what better time than on the run up to John Lennon’ 80th Birthday. The song has taken on a whole new level of potency for me with everything going on in the world at the minute. I really felt this one in my stomach. I hope you do too.”
