In case it escaped your attention, the cinematic video “Coolie” by Amsterdam-based rapper Jay-Way is worth your time. Directed by Joachim Spruijt, the fast-paced visuals suits the artist’s awesome flow.

Produced by Dayme, “Coolie” is characterized a thumping trap beat over which Jay-Way effortlessly delivers meaningful rhymes. He explains, “With this song, I’m going back to my core sound — the sound that sparked my core audience. Witty lines decorated by my low voice. This song is a summary of where I am in life, and a refocus on why I do what I do. Some want to spend their big check on material things. One of my goals has always been to make my mother proud, hence the line in the chorus: ‘I’m just trying to buy my momma a crib; that’s goals before I’m checking out.’”
