“Hideaway” by reggae/pop band Common Kings is an earworm of a song: a sweet serenade.
With the US-based group set to unveil their sophomore album, CELEBRATION, on 25th August, this is their latest single. That upcoming LP will arrive via Island Empire/Mensch House Records.
“It’s a culmination of our careers, jamming 20 years, raising families, living life and making music, all of it coming together and being able to share that with the world“, notes lead singer Sasualei “Jr. King” Maliga.
Common Kings consists of Pacific Islanders: Hawaii-raised Samoan guitarist Taumata “Mata” Grey; Fiji-born bassist Ivan “Uncle Lui” Kirimaua; Los Angeles-born Tongan drummer Jerome “Big Rome” Taito; and, of course, the Samoan-born Hawaiian lead singer Jr. King.
