The debut album by Aiza finds the Toronto-based Canadian singer in the peak of her powers. Titled Sovereignty, this 11-song collection is a celebration of her growth into a confident and unapologetic woman (and artist).

“The album dives into my experiences dealing with heartbreak, healing my inner child, honoring my lineage and boldly owning the fact that I’m a star,” shares the Montreal-raised singer.

Musically, we are treated to her euphoria-filled blend of Afropop and R&B. Title track “Sovereignty” is heavy on percussion and super infectious. Equally refreshing is the previously released song, “Majimbo”.

Aiza worked with her go-to producer C The Reason as well as other talented musicians.

She remarks: “To my precious and growing tribe around the world, thank you for believing in this little Burundian girl from Montreal. I have never been more proud to put out a project and I can’t wait for you to listen to it on repeat. May this album become the soundtrack to powerful awakenings and unforgettable nights spent dancing under the moonlight.”
