I’ve followed Lenka for the past couple of years. Last Friday, the Australian singer released a new album named Intraspectral. An introspective collection of songs, this is Lenka’s first full-lenth release since since 2020’s Recover/Discover.

Focus track “Ultraviolet” carries the artist’s signature, 80’s-inspired electro pop style. I love the melodies and lyrics.

“I wrote this song with Julian Hamilton from The Presets and its kind of a bookend to the theme of the album Instraspectral,” Lenka shares. “It’s about not wanting to stay safe and simple, but to expand in life and keep all the colours shining bright. Ultraviolet is actually the colour frequency higher than violet; it sits outside the rainbow. It is not visible to us and can be dangerous, but I kinda like this metaphor for living life.

Other songs on this impressive body of work include “Okay”, “Badly” and the previously released single “Silhouette“.

Stream Intraspectral as a whole + connect with Lenka on Instagram.
