UK hip hop comes alive on this new record bringing together producer Jackie Marua and emcee CD Spinz. Called “Rise”, this song is another installment in Marua’s Sunday Samples series. For each song in this series, the producer builds a track around a sample then invites an artist to lay in vocals.

With “Rise”, CD Spinz spits introspective bars over a soulful instrumental. The song finds him venting his frustrations with life in the city, among other societal issues. Spinz’s lyricism and rhyme skills are on showcase, and so is Jackie’s inspired production.
