Australian pop music trio PEPTALK returned a week ago with “Forrest”. This brand new single follows the group’s Dumb Teen Heartache, a late 2023 EP including the song “Close Friend“. It is fun and refreshing, just as the composition of this outfit.

PEPTALK says, “‘Forrest’ is an ode to long-term relationships. We wanted to capture a realistic vantage into those less-than-perfect moments with your ‘perfect someone’. With a playful nod to Forrest Gump’s undying commitment to Jenny, Forrest is a sweet and self-assured stance that the good times outweigh the bad. Sonically we wanted the song to flow from intimate to carefree, putting the songwriting at the front and centre.“

With the band having described the inspiration behind the lyrics, I can only exclaim how it makes me feel: spellbound.
