One of the perks of being a curator or tastemaker is the opportunity to discover exciting artists/bands and sharing your delight with other fans. When I first heard “Paper Kite” by Hi Moon, I was instantly fascinated by the outfit’s forward-thinking sound. They describe their music using these (befitting) phrases: ‘futuristic sounds’ and ‘nostalgic grooves’.

Hi Moon is a collaborative project pairing Chicago-based classical violinist Katie Klocke and multi-instrumentalist/producer Joseph Mietus. Both musicians have had successful solo careers.

“Paper Kite” is part of Hi Moon’s first ever collection of tracks. The collection is titled Future Reverie and include two other songs: “One Note You’re Welcome” and “I Wish You Would”.
