Breakups don’t have to be broody. Last Friday, Brighton-based UK newcomer Libby Whitehouse shared this record called “Fired”. It is a sizzling electro pop song that makes light of the experience of breakups.

Libby explains, “‘Fired’ is a feel good break up song, I wrote this with my best friend in mind. She was going through a break up at the time. I didn’t want it to be a typical sad break up song, I want anyone who’s experiencing that to feel in control of their situation and empowered to keep pushing. If you’re going to cry over a boy, at least dance around the kitchen looking hot whilst doing it???!! That’s what this song is for.“

The artist released her first ever single, “OMG”, two months ago and it was quite a massive debut; the track has garnered over a quarter million streams on Spotify alone.
