Swedish pop singer Boy In Space dropped a new EP on May 31st. The 5-song project is titled Copium, and was released alongside the music video for focus track “Mayflowers”. Filmed in the artist’s hometown of Alingsås, the visual is a riveting watch.

“With the music video for ‘Mayflowers,’ ROOM7 and I were heavily inspired by the movies ‘Taxi Driver’ and ‘The Tree of Life’,” he comments. “We wanted to contrast those settings. One being very dark and gloomy, and the other being beautiful and light, like the memories of what used to be. It was a great learning curve being a co-director on this project and also being a silent actor. We filmed the video in my hometown of Alingsås, which made the process a lot easier, knowing the best locations for certain scenes.”

It had been a while since I listened to Boy In Space, so naturally I was excited when I learned that he was about to release a new EP. Listening to the entire project was a wholesome experience. I will surely give it another listen.
