Aipate introduced K O D A E when the Canadian alt-R&B band made their debut in 2021. Fast forward three and a half years, they’re now back with fifth single, “Daydreamer”. This one is a collaboration with singer TAYLR (a.k.a. Ann Taylor), also from Canada.

“Daydreamer” is characterized by funky guitars, vibrant drum beats and smooth sax lines. It benefits from the diversity of the musicians’ backgrounds. Jazz, soul and gospel influences are discernible.

K O D A E consists of Annie da Silva (vocals), Eric Osborne (guitar), Owen McPherson (bass), Seyoung Lee (keys) and Curtis Sauer (drums). On her part, TAYLR is a Calgary-native singer known for her reflective lyrics and amazing voice.
