Emerging with a magnificent debut single called “Alicia”, Will Sass is surely an artist to watch. The New York City-based electronic producer did team with singer Alvin Risk for the genre-bending track.

As a music writer, I sometimes find myself overusing superlatives. Still, I feel no amount of words can describe just how beautiful this song is. The indie-dance tune is as fascinating as the story behind its creation; on seeing a meteor while at Joshua Tree, California, Will Sass was immediately inspired.

‘Alicia’ was one of those songs that came together quickly and effortlessly,” he reveals. “I played Alvin the atmospheric opening and he came up with these beautiful lyrics about a girl leaving the Mormon church. The night before when I’d seen the meteor and called Alvin, he happened to be in the studio for the first time in five years. We were both feeling really inspired and it just felt like everything aligned perfectly for us to finally collaborate.

The intricately woven melodies blend seamlessly with Alvin’s delicate vocals to give “Alicia” its bewitching allure. I just can’t get enough of the song.

Give it a listen too. Remember to follow Will Sass and Alvin Risk on Instagram.
