Just as was expected, TJ Wilkins got to release his new solo album, Yesterday, Today, Forever, earlier this month. The LA-based American soul singer had teased it with singles like “Picture Us“. That retro soul tune was so captivating that I immediately became a fan of the artist.

Yesterday, Today, Forever is a collection of 13 lovely songs. “Let The Cool Come Off”, for example, was inspired by funk/disco of the ’70s.

It’s about losing yourself in the moment of a good time and was the last song we wrote in Mexico,” Wilkins says about the track, “We went to a club one night and I didn’t know any of the songs and couldn’t understand any of the lyrics, but it didn’t matter at all.”

Other tracks on the album include “Just A Dream”, “Stay One Way” and, of course, “Picture Us”. Stream Yesterday, Today, Forever entirely via Spotify below, and consider following TJ Wilkins on Instagram.
