With his new single “In A Minute”, New Jersey-based American musician Kerry Charles transports listeners a couple of decades back. The nostalgic song melds R&B with synthpop seamlessly. And, like with all Kerry’s songs, hints of classic rock can be felt.

“In A Minute” carries a laidback groove and saccharine melodies, which, together with the artist’s warm falsetto, help round up the vibe.

Kerry says this about the song: “‘In A Minute’ is about your last day of work when you’ve quit your job without a new one lined up. Teetering on the edge of ecstasy and dread after ‘giving up a pension and benefits for freedom’. Max Cudworth returns to uncork another ripper of a sax solo at the climax of this track that perfectly captures the feeling of terrifying release as the protagonist turns their badge in.

This is one of those songs suitable for various playlists and moments, be it in the car, in the bedroom, or by the beach sipping your favourite drink. I bet you will listen to “In A Minute” repeatedly.
