The last few years has the rise and continued rise of African R&B music. Core to the success of this sub-genre is a curious readiness to infuse blend genres. Kenyan-based Ugandan crooner Joshua Baraka is one of the artists pushing the envelope with their eclectic songs.

Baraka’s soulful voice allows him to move seamlessly between genres, as exemplified by his newest song, “Lonely”. Brimming with delectable melodies, the P Priime-produced track combines elements of R&B, dancehall, pop, and, of course, afrobeats.
