In case you don’t already know them, Trudy and the Romance are a UK indie band fronted by singer-songwriter Oliver Taylor. Last week, the outfit presented fans with a new album titled Blue Thunder. 11 tracks long, and released by B3SCI Records, the LP sees Trudy and the Romance take a new sonic direction.

 “Blue Thunder set out to cross genres with production elegance; no judgement, no barriers holding it back. A new, open road in the direction of country and Americana. It holds recollections of the recent past and newfound truths of the present, signalling the next era of my life. Excellent collaborators contributed to this album – I hope you will enjoy the storytelling we’ve created,” says Taylor.

The focus track, “Break a Rock”, is utterly bewitching and affectingly nostalgic. Delivered passionately, and paired with lo-fi visuals that augment its intimate feel, “Break a Rock” is that song will get stuck in your head.
