Polygamy arrived on December 6 via CMP Records.

The latest album from Amsterdam-based artist Joshua J arrived last Friday. Polygamy is a 10-song project combining intoxicating Afro-Caribbean rhythms with soulful guitar elements.

The album was inspired by Joshua’s journey of self-discovery in Ghana. Polygamy explores issues around the artist’s identity and his diverse cultural influences, which range from Caribbean and African roots to an Amsterdam upbringing.

On the broody focus track, “In My Phone”, Joshua delves deeper into his past, revealing challenges like parent addiction and absence. Other songs on the album include “As a Man” and the previously released Xeniah Manasseh-assisted “Blessings“.
