After delivering their Tall Tales & Fables album four years ago, Nashville indie-folk duo Haunted Like Human didn’t release any new material until this year, when they made their eagerly awaited return. A new album is expected to drop in the month of October. Titled American Mythology, it is 14 tracks longs, with a couple of singles already released.
The most recent single is called “Family Name”. It’s a charming folk piece about the pressure to conform to tradition.
“The song holds the weight of everything that it means to carry the family name and all of the unseen things that are tucked into it,” says songwriter Dale Chapman. “And it also begs the question of what we will do with that birthright and the life we will build for ourselves with it.”
Let the gentle guitars and vocals harmonies fill your heart as you digest the introspective lyrics. Be sure to follow Haunted Like Human on Instagram.
