UK singer-songwriter Joe Hicks released his debut album, The Best I Could Do at the Time, in 2022, unveiling its deluxe version the following year. Since then, a lot happened in his life: he lost hid dad while he was dealing with a bad breakup.

In such situations — as most people find — it’s easy to just give up. For Hicks, he eventually mustered the courage to continue releasing music, of course with support — his long-time collaborator Tom Millar and producer Sam Winfield were in his corner.

“Time is a Thief” is Joe’s first release is about three years. He paired this thought-provoking indie pop/rock song with a music video that captures its moody vibe.

Joe Hicks reveals, “‘Time is a Thief’ was a song that when I had finished the lyrics it revealed to me how I was truly feeling at the time, being in a mindset that everything was both pointless and meaningless. It showed me the stages of grief I’d been going through since losing my Dad, where I was currently at, and also how that experience had shaped my outlook on life.
