With only a handful of tracks, Chicago native Quill has demonstrated her ability to connect with listeners, thanks to her confessional songwriting. You just have to listen to the up-and-coming artist’s latest single, “Autonomy”.

A song about the need to be allowed the freedom to make one’s own decisions, “Autonomy” puts daylight between love and control. Quill’s wrote it from the perspective of a daughter resisting their parent’s attempt to mould them into perfection. The song is equally gripping musically–I love the emo vibe.

Quill is currently gearing up for the release of her debut EP, Diary of a Wannabe (that project expected to drop on 10th April).
