Born in Canada and currently based out of New York, Peter Lake is a singer-songwriter who makes music behind a veil. Despite his enigmatic image, the artist has quite some some lofty ambitions.
His latest single “Colors Of Suspension” is a kaleidoscopic track blending different music styles. He wrote it after spending time with a young boy whose issues at school got him suspended. To cheer the kid up, they played with food coloring by mixing a variety of them in water.
“And we just sat there watching the colors merge and dissolve,” says Peter. “We start to describe the shapes the way you might see clouds as an animal. That looks like a tower. That looks like a staircase. In the end it turned all red. I told him it will be ok. These colors were suspended and it brought us distraction from this world that sometimes can be so harsh on a young boy.“
The song was delivered as a duet pairing Peter with his friend Yousha.
