Following his 2022 EP, Winnin’, Obeeyay is back with a new single, “Closure”. With this one, he created a dance-pop tune that, as the title suggests, is about ‘looking for closure in a relationship’.

The track’s production is crisp; it blends elements from hip hop, afropop, dancehall and mainstream pop. While it’s emotional lyrically, the song offers a fun listen.

I had this relationship that lasted 5 years on and off since High School. After graduation, I left to serve a volunteer church mission in South Africa for two years and we wrote letters all the time. She promised to wait for me till I got back and when I got back we started dating and she wanted me to propose and the day that I did, she said no. It surprised me since she knew it was coming but got scared. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s gone through that, and I just like telling real stories about real situations,” the artist told Music & Fashion Blog.

Dance to “Closure” and follow Obeeyay on Instagram.
