East and West came together as Japanese vocal performer Hatis Noit joined forces with American DJ/producer Preservation as well as New York rap duo Armand Hammer (which is made up by ELUCID and billy woods) for “Jomon” rework.
“Jomon” was originally released as part of Noit’s 2022 album, Aura. This new version materialised after Hatis’ label Erased Tapes had linked up with Preservation while he was residing in Hong Kong, and the producer was immediately hooked to Noit’s sonic and visual styles.
On “Jomon (Preservation Rework)”, slow-paced rap verses from ELUCID and billy woods sit sandwiched between the Japanese singer’s hypnotic vocals, making for a mesmeric listen.
