Before returning as Karl Jakob in 2019 (and releasing an EP called Pippi is dead. And we killed her.), Swedish singer and producer Karl Tore Jakob Stenseke had been involved in various projects, including the band Zekes. He now seems to be enjoying creative freedom, with his latest single hinting to this.
The new song is called “Sometimes all the times” and is heavy on experimentation. Simply put, it sounds blissful.
Karl shares, “I bought a vintage bass and tried to write a song for it. A simple bassline found some friends in wahwah-guitars, clavinet, saxophone, and agogô. It led to this indie disco-funk jam, teleporting me to the dancefloor of yesteryear, and I couldn’t stop dancing.“
About the meaning of the title of this indie-dance track, the musician says that “Sometimes all the times” is a ‘paradoxical mantra that have been with me for many years – and it fitted right in as the main hook.’
Truth be told, I can’t get enough of this song and you will understand why after giving it a listen. Remember, you can keep up with Karl Jakob on Instragram.
