Konstance is a 19-year-old Nigerian newcomer who scored a hit last year in the form of “Melo”. Now, her first proper release of 2024 is here with us. A collaboration with quick-rising artist Majeeed, the song is called “My Heart”. This is a mellifluous afrobeats song that infuses elements of R&B and dance-pop.

“My Heart” features soft beats and addictive melodies, with Konstance and Majeeed laying their captivating vocals over a masterfully crafted instrumental. They sing in English, Pidgin and Yoruba.

Konstance remarks, “This is one of my favourite songs have recorded so far. Because it’s a love song, I’m sure people will be wondering if ‘My Heart’ is from a personal experience. The song is about giving your heart up for love, and although I have never been in love, I’m saying if I do give my heart up for love, I hope I won’t get hurt. Hence the line ‘if I give you my heart, dakun ma je ko fo’, which means ‘if I give you my heart, please don’t break it’, and putting Majeeed on the song was the best idea. I mean what’s a love song without Majeeed!

“My Heart” is indeed a beautiful love song that I have found myself singing along to. It arrived accompanied by a lovely music video which you can watch above. Also, get to connect with the two artists by following them on Instagram:
