Having scored a hit six months ago with her song “Move From Mè“, British Jamaican newcomer Lahrel continues to put her talent and versatility on display. Her new single “Sit Down” sees her dive deeper into her Caribbean heritage. Featuring “Drogba (Joana)” hitmaker Afro B, this hard-hitting dancehall tune was produced by Swedish duo PVBLO&SWRD.

“Sit Down” infuses afro-pop and Latin-pop elements, giving it a wider appeal. The song is a proper candidate for the dancefloor. Still, it carries a solid message that urges listeners to claim their space and not allow anyone to diminish their worth.

This song is about how I move to my own rhythm, unafraid to claim myspace, in my own words on my own terms, at my own pace,” Lahrel assertively adds. The West London-based artist is set to release the music video.

For now, let’s dance along to “Sit Down”. Remember you can connect with Lahrel and Afro B on Instagram.
