Since wowing us with her glorious debut single “Easy Street“, Frances Whitney has continued to deliver gorgeous indie-pop pieces. The LA-based singer-songwriter’s latest offering is titled “You Left Me For Jesus”. It’s about the complex emotions that come with break-ups.

Whitney shares, “‘I wrote ‘You Left Me For Jesus’ from a place of confusion and deep heartbreak — and somewhat uncharacteristically, the lyrics poured out of me nearly all at once. It’s a raw reflection of how betrayed and abandoned I felt — even in the absence of explicit infidelity or wrong-doing.”

The fragility expressed through the lyrics is further accentuated by the evocative melodies. Frances has quite a powerful beautiful voice which she makes great use of on this track.

You Left Me For Jesus” is lifted from the artist’s debut EP, Old Hobbies, which is scheduled to drop on 15th November. I can’t wait to hear the whole EP. To never miss the moment when it drops, do follow Frances Whitney on Instagram.
