Texas-native guitarist & singer-songwriter Michael Lee grew up listening to lots of blues. Over the years, he has honed his craft, even appearing on Season 15 of NBC’s The Voice.
Now, with his band named Michael Lee & The Wartime Limousine, he presents a new cover EP in which he marries his love for soul music with his blues upbringing. The 4-track EP is titled The Object of The Game, and includes his rendition of Texan legend Bobby Patterson’s “I Get My Groove From You”.
“At some point, if you’re fortunate, you realize the real game isn’t winning. It’s finding the courage to chase what matters, regardless of the outcome. Object of the Game is the sonic embodiment of that journey. A step in a new direction while holding onto the roots I cherish dearly,” Michael says about the EP, which saw him link up with funk/soul production duo Silver Skylarks.
This EP is but an appetizer; there is plan for an album made up of original songs (expected to be released sometimes next year). Even as you listen to the EP, consider following Michael Lee & The Wartime Limousine on Instagram for future updates.
