AKenyanVoice [update** site now defunct] launched their music streaming and download website and so far there are a good number of songs already uploaded in their platform. This comes at a time when there is rising competition in the music streaming world and its expected that the likes of Mdundo will put up some fight to protect their dominance in the market.

So far, the songs retail for at-least KES 50 since artists have the say on the pricing of their music. At the moment, one can freely stream the music and only pay for the downloads. However, an executive tells me that this will only be so for a promotional period.

We are waiting to see how the market responds to this audacious move by AKV to help musicians easily distribute their music online, and also earn from their work.
