AKenyanVoice [update** site now defunct] launched their music streaming and download website and so far there are a good number of songs already uploaded in their platform. This comes at a time when there is rising competition in the music streaming world and its expected that the likes of Mdundo will put up some fight to protect their dominance in the market.
So far the songs retail for at-least KES 50 as the artists has the say on the pricing of their music. At the moment, one can freely stream the music and only pay for the downloads and the management tells me that this is only so for a promotional period and later they will revamp the sales strategy.
We are waiting to see how the market responds to this audacious move to help musicians easily distribute their music online and earn from their work.
