Wanakamati is a Kenyan hip hop group based in Nairobi. It was formed in 2014 and consists of three rappers: Dalvo The Ghostface, Jewelz and Mace. The group’s Swahili name comes from a translation from English of the phrase ‘The Commissioners’.

The group was originally formed in 2015 by rappers Dalvo and Mace, who met at the university. At that time Dalvo was pursuing a solo career while Mace had just been released by his then record label GmG (Gifted Music Group). They went on to release tracks like “Struggle is real” and “Hustle”, and later “Ojuelegba Refix”, which went on to top the Mdundo charts.

Early 2015, rapper Jewelz came on board, with the group then releasing their well-received single “Jibu Swali” later that year. I can’t wait to see what they deliver next.
