Introducing Wanakamati Hip Hop group

Wanakamati is a Kenyan hip hop group based in Nairobi. It was formed in 2014 and consists of three rappers; Dalvo The Ghostface, Jewelz and Mace. The group’s name, Wanakamati, comes from a translation from English “The Commissioners”, which means Officials or Representatives of Hiphop. The group was originally formed by rappers Dalvo The Ghostface and Mace in early 2014. The two met at the university while studying as undergraduates. At that time Dalvo was pursuing a solo career while Mace had just been released by his then record label GmG (Gifted Music Group). They released tracks like: “Struggle is real” and “Hustle” and later, “Ojuelegba Refix” which went on to top the Mdundo charts.

In early 2015 the duo met with rapper Jewelz, who was then pursuing a solo career and due to his wordplay and creativity, took him. In late 2015, the group came together to release their famous single “Jibu Swali” which got massive airplay on the radios.
