Gold Spectacles immerses the listener into a melody-filled bliss with their latest genre-bending track, “Courtside”. Arriving on January 25th, it is the fourth installment in a series of twelve, monthly singles that the London-based, UK pop producer/songwriter duo has committed to. It’s an electronic-imbued, indie-pop record that explores the feeling of vulnerability and finding solace in the voice of another. And the vocals…well, it’s something close to sublime.
“We built this track up around the flute, spanish guitar and a few analog synths. We wanted to make something that blended sounds that are both organic and electronic to create a post-modern landscape. Lyrically, we are talking about dependence, specifically in a long distance relationship.” ~ Gold Spectacles
The two musicians’ first EP was called Flaws and Visions and it carried songs like “Steal You Away”, “Lately” and “Even”, among others. Following that release, they proceeded to a period that saw them refine their sound. “Courtside”, thus, validates any amount of time they spent creating it.
