Sufficient sleep, regular exercise, healthy diet, inner poise, and emotional well-being are beneficial to your vocal instrument. You should shy away from drinking alcohol, smoking, and drugs.

You should see to it that you drink enough water daily. It’s because water keeps you hydrated and hydration is essential to having healthy vocal cords. You should also make sure that your in-ear or stage monitors have an excellent mix. Figuring out the perfect monitor mix for you takes time and effort, but once you get the ideal monitor mix, it allows you to perform well without having to strain your singing voice.

It’s also crucial that you hear your voice and the musical harmony correctly, such as the keyboard, bassline, and guitar. Avoid using a pitch-corrector that alters your pitch electronically in the monitor mix because it prevents you from singing properly. And if you’ll use an autotune, use it only in the house mix, not in the monitor mix.
