Charlotte OC’s new single “Better Off On My Own” is an anthemic ballad

One feels unappreciated in a relationship and then they decide to leave. It is this ‘breakup script’ that UK singer/songwriting Charlotte OC re-enacts with her latest single, “Better Off On My Own”. Well, she may have just crafted an emotional anthem in the process. With a hint of sombre synth-pop, this heartfelt and soulful ballad is vocally enchanting. Coming in the heels of Charlotte’s debut album, Careless People, “Better Off On My Own” is lifted off of her forthcoming EP which is scheduled to drop later in 2019.

I was having a heart to heart with my friend in the toilet about my love life. As I finished the conversation, a woman came out the cubical and told she had overheard everythingThe woman said to me, ‘stop trying to have ownership over somebody…you crave freedom so take it’. She was right, I needed to be on my own. It was the first time I had considered it, and this song was crucial for me to write. It’s the most honest song I’ve ever written” ~ Charlotte OC

The artist is currently on tour with Tom Walker, performing at Radio 1 Weekender.
